Introduction
PrayerTime.Today ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information our mobile apps and website (prayertime.today) use, why, and where it goes. In short: no accounts, no ads, no analytics or tracking, and no third-party scripts on the website.
Information We Use
Your Location
- Approximate location from your IP address: On first use (and when you tap "Detect" / "Auto-detect"), our server looks up your approximate location from your IP address using a local GeoIP database on our own server, to pick the nearest supported city. The IP address is not sent to any other service and is not stored by this lookup.
- GPS location (apps only, optional): With your permission, the apps use your device's location for the Qibla compass (calculated on your device) and, when you tap "Detect location", send your coordinates to our server to find the nearest supported city. The coordinates are not stored.
- Selected city: To fetch prayer times, your country and city are part of the request to our server.
Support Requests
If you contact us through the support form, we receive the details you enter: name, email, subject, message and, if you fill them in, country and city. We use them only to answer your request. They are sent to our support service on Google Cloud, recorded in our server logs, and forwarded to our private support channel on Slack so we can reply. We keep them only as long as needed to handle your request; you can ask us to delete them at any time through the support form.
The form is protected against spam without any third-party service (a hidden field and a minimum time before sending) and a limit on how often one address can send.
Server Logs
We do not keep request logs with IP addresses: the per-request logs that our hosting provider (Google Cloud) would normally record are switched off for our servers. Our own application logs, which we use only to keep the service running and secure, never contain your full IP address (it is shortened, for example 37.210.132.x) and are deleted automatically after 30 days.
Information We Do Not Collect
- Accounts, phone numbers or contact details (except what you send through the support form)
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Usage analytics, tracking pixels or third-party tracking of any kind
- Any financial information
Data Stored on Your Device
- Your preferences (language, theme, time format, selected country and city) are stored locally on your device. The website keeps them in your browser's local storage and sets no cookies.
- The apps cache prayer times on your device so they keep working offline.
Service Providers and Third Parties
- Google Cloud hosts the website (Cloud Storage), our prayer times API and our support service (Cloud Run), and their logs (Cloud Logging).
- Slack receives support form messages in our private support channel.
- The website loads no third-party scripts, fonts or images: everything is served from prayertime.today, and the page talks only to our own API and support service.
We do not sell or share any data with third parties for advertising, analytics, or any other purpose.
Data Security
- All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
- Prayer times requests carry no account or device identifier
- Local data stays on your device
Children's Privacy
Our apps and website do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. They are suitable for all ages.
Your Rights
You can:
- Clear all app data through your device settings, or the website's data through your browser settings
- Deny location permission in the apps (the Qibla compass and GPS city detection will not work; you can still pick your city)
- Pick your city yourself instead of using automatic detection
- Ask us through the support form to access or delete a support request you sent
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
